McFerrin Park Community
What makes McFerrin Park so great
As one of the three closest residential neighborhoods to downtown Nashville, residents of McFerrin Park love the fact they can take the "buffalo trail" into downtown via bike in two minutes or with a stroll in 10 minutes. Home to the legendary Roxy Theater, McFerrin Park is starting to see revitalization of the commercial district. The first project around the theater, the restoration of the Morris Jacobs Dry Goods Store and Red Cross Drugs, is being prepared for a restaurant. This rejuvenated mini Main Street will serve as the center gathering area for the community and an important node for the growth of East Nashville. A beautiful fire station and active park and community center serve as community icons, but it is the community itself that gives McFerrin Park a strong identity. When not attending other community events, it is commonplace to see the neighbors post in the neighborhood Facebook group for everyone to meet up at Wilburn Tavern.
