What makes Lockeland Springs so great
The Lockeland Springs historic neighborhood is a turn-of-the-20th-century streetcar suburb two miles northeast of downtown Nashville, Tennessee in East Nashville. With nearly 1,500 residential properties within the historic district, Lockeland Springs represents an unique, intact example of an 1880-1940 suburb, complete with architecturally distinguished houses in the Eastlake, Queen Anne, Classical Revival, and Bungalow styles. In addition to the historic homes, Lockeland Springs and its famed 5 Points have a thriving commercial and entertainment district with many hip and eclectic shops and restaurants. The list of not-to-be missed restaurants, including Tenn Sixteen, Edley's BBQ, Cafe Margot's, Marche, 5 Points Pizza, Rumours East, and The Treehouse, goes on and on. Even hot dogs are given an East Nashville twist, served out of a VW van on blocks at I Dream of Weenie. A stop at The Pied Piper Creamery for dessert and Bongo East for coffee should round out any meal. A craft beer from the local Fat Bottom or a round of drinks at 3 Crow Bar will get your ready for the show at The Spot or BLDG. Mainstay retailers, like Eastside Cycles or The Nashville Running Company, are joined by small start up businesses at the IDEA Hatchery. Lockeland Springs and 5 Points are the heart of a pulsing East Nashville.
